I’ve written and published reviews, essays, reported articles and poetry but these days, I’m working on a novel. I’ve received support for my novel from the Martha Heasley Cox Center for Steinbeck Studies at San Jose State University and the Mendocino Writers Conference. I teach creative writing to children and adults and have taught in many settings: a university, high schools, middle schools, libraries, rehabilitation centers, and one time, in a casino. I also help make an online tool for K-12-age kids to learn writing skills. I grew up in Miami but I now live in San Francisco where I care for two children, a dog, my partner, myself and the communities to which I belong.
