I'm an arts journalist, book reviewer, and editor. I grew up in Miami and I've lived in Philadelphia, where I did my undergraduate degree in English Literature at The University of Pennsylvania, Bologna, Italy, and New York City, where I attended New York University's Cultural Reporting and Criticism program. Now, I live in San Francisco.
I write about nonfiction books and interview authors regularly for Kirkus Features. I've also contributed online reviews and author interviews and essays to Oxford American, Los Angeles Review of Books, The New Yorker, and The Nation, among other publications.
I commission and edit nonfiction—and do other various tasks—for a literary magazine, The Brooklyn Quarterly.
In my spare time, I cook elaborate dinners for my husband and friends, and work on my salsa dancing skills.
